The original release of Windows XP did not ship with Java Virtual Machine, but a copy of it is included in SP1. Now for the best bit: Microsoft updated XP SP1 to version SP1a (Feb 2003) and the only change they made was to remove the JVM again!
So, Windows XP SP1a does not include or install the Microsoft VM, which provides support for running Java programs. If you are running Windows XP or Windows XP SP1 with the Microsoft VM already installed, you can continue to update the Microsoft VM by using Windows Update. If you are running Windows XP without the Microsoft VM, you do not have to install updates to the Microsoft VM. Therefore, these updates are not offered to you when you visit Windows Update. Thanks to a court ruling, Microsoft is no longer able to provide a download of the Microsoft VM for computers that do not already have the Microsoft VM installed.
You will have a choice between SP1 and SP1a below.
Step 1
Create 3 folders - C:\WINXPSP1, C:\SP1106 and C:\XPBOOT
Step 2
Copy the entire Windows XP CD into folder C:\WINXPSP1
Step 3
You will have to download one of the below:

In their initial state, Microsoft Windows operating systems (98, ME, XP, 2000, NT) allow anyone on the internet to pop up Windows on your screen. There is no need for them to know anything about your computer and your computer does not care who does it.
Disabling the Messenger Service
To remove the ability for anyone to pop up messages on your computer, you can
disable the Messenger service. Its easy to reverse at a later time if you wish
to do so.
Keep in mind that you are advised to check with your computer support staff before disabling any service so that you do not inadvertently disable a service that your department uses.

NOTE:
Automatic: Service is started every time the computer boots This is the
default setting for any services that the system wants. But, there are many
unnecessary services that do this by default.
Manual: Service does NOT start at boot, but can be started manually by
the user or by another service that depends on it. This is often used for
services that you don't always want running but use on occasion like telnet or
terminal services.
Disabled: The service cannot be started by the system or the user. There
are no services that are set to this by default. If a service is set to this it
is because someone put it there. This is useful for things you DO NOT want to
run.
If an Automatic/Manual service is not running, and someone attempts to connect
to that service they will not get a reply and the service will remain stopped.
Disabled services cannot start even when the user attempts to manually start it.
HOW TO SETUP FTP SERVER (BulletProof FTP Server)
1. First download and install BulletProof FTP Server. Run the program and you should see something like this.

2. Go to Setup >> Main >> General

3. The next window you should see looks like this.

4. Name your FTP server whatever you want. For this I
used "MyFTP". And choose a maximum number of users as well as a port you
want your FTP to run on.

5. Go to the Options sub-category and check the "Refused
multiple connections from same IP" to limit a user to only 1
connection.

6. Click OK and then go to Setup >> User
Accounts

7. You may get a message like this. Just press OK.

8. A new window should appear and then right-click the
blank white space under Group Account and choose Add.

9. A small window should popup. Enter any name you want.
The account name is the same as the user when logging into an FTP. I used
"Test" for the name. Don't forget to choose a password as well.

10. Now, right-click in the white space under Access
Rights. And choose Add. Then add any directory you want the user to have
access to. By default, the attributes R (Read) and L(List) are allowed for
the user.

11. Press OK, and then start your server. It should work
and you can test it by logging onto it yourself using the login/password
you chose.

Just a small explanation of the attributes in
BulletProof FTP Server:
Read - Whether or not a user
can download files from a certain directory.
Write -
Whether or not a user can upload files to a certain
directory.
Delete - Whether or not a user can delete
files in a certain directory.
Append - Whether or not
a user can resume part of an uploaded file.
Make -
Whether or not a user can create a folder in a certain
directory.
List - Whether or not a user can view any
of the files or folder in a certain directory.
Delete
- Whether or not a user can delete or rename a certain
directory.
+Subdirs - Whether or not the attributes
gives to a certain folder apply to the files and folders in
it.
All/None - Whether or not you want all attributes
given to a user or not.
