BRELA, well-known town in middle Dalmatia, on the coast of Makarska Riviera, at the foothill of Biokovo mountain, 15 kilometers NW from Makarska, on the state road (M2, E65) Split - Dubrovnik. The name Brela firstly appears in the writings of Byzantine emperor Konstantin Porphyrogennetos (10th century), and there it's called Berulia.

 

Brela is the wellspring of beauty - really, thanks to thick pinewood forest, lovely beaches, crystal clear sea, springs of water. Warm summers are milded by Mistral wind. Brela is famous for decades as one of the most attractive tourist resorts in Dalmatia.
